Dean Ghaffari is an Actor and Playwright whom first started acting in 1994 appearing in the feature film Stranger By Night that aired on HBO playing a young Steven Bauer (Scarface). Dean has studied Sanford Meisner’s Technique, Strasberg’s Method and On-camera Technique with Lou Diamond Phillips (La Bamba). He also took classes at The Actor’s Gang workshop with Academy Award Winner, Tim Robbins and scene study with Award Winning Director, Robert Allen Ackerman who has directed the likes of Al Pacino on Broadway and Meryl Streep. Ghaffari also attended The Actor’s Gym workshop founded by two-time Academy Award winner, Bobby Moresco (co-writer of Crash and producer of Million Dollar Baby) where he developed his one man show, Rebel With A Cause, The Sal Mineo Story.
Dean wrote and performed a stage production on the late Sal Mineo, Rebel With A Cause, which has since been performed Off-Broadway at St. Luke’s Theatre, United Solo Festival at New York City’s Theatre row in addition to a number of venues throughout L.A. including a run at The Promenade Playhouse and the world famous, Ice House In Pasadena.
Dean has acted in over a dozen plays; some of the roles include Rudy in the war drama Loyalties along with the theater production, Eight Story Hotel which he co-wrote with an ensemble of actors produced by Studio C Artists. He has also played a series of lead roles in various short films such as, Devil’s in the Details, The Devil’s Grave, Butt-Ugly and a supporting role in the feature film, Kateri.
